Every year on the 6 August the Griqua Royal House celebrate at the Castle and in different provinces the Griqua day.

On 6 August 1813 the Bastards took the name GRIQUA as a tribe due to the origin as Gri-griqua.

Adam Kok II was also born on this day the 6 August.
